Sierra Club volunteers at Green Jobs Conference

Oregon Sierra Club volunteers attended the Good Jobs, Green Jobs Conference in Washinton D.C. this month.

Sierra Club volunteers Anne Mitchell, Stacy Holtmann, Fred Huette, Wes Kempfer, and Rachael Lipinski joined many other environmentalists and labor leaders in “Advocacy Day” on Capitol Hill as a part of the Good Jobs, Green Jobs Conference in Washington D.C. this month.  Advocacy teams made an aptly timed effort to lobby elected representatives from their home states as the Senate debated the economic stimulus package. In making a unified effort to promote environmentally and worker friendly jobs, Sierra Clubbers and United Steel Workers experienced first-hand how our values and goals often overlap.
